But how much have you delivered to us shareholders?

Annually, solar heating saves more than 40 million tons of oil and reduces CO₂ emissions over 140 million tons.

Meriaura Energy’s contribution to these savings continues to grow, and we have for example delivered the largest solar heat plant for industrial process heat in Europe.

Europe is leading by example. Currently the leading markets for solar district heating are Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Austria and China, with growing solar heating markets like Poland and France catching up.

In greenhouses, crop production is dependent on soil and air temperature as well as humidity and solar radiation. Greenhouse operators face many challenges, among them increasing energy costs, security of energy supply, and customer expectations for more sustainable operations, which means a reduction in carbon footprint and the transition to carbon-free production processes. At the same time they need to ensure the production of food for the increasing needs of the community.

Solar thermal as an energy source enables the greenhouse operator to tackle many – if not all – of these challenges. By updating to a clean heat, greenhouses can reduce their carbon footprint and ensure more sustainable food production for the future.
