An approximately 3000 m2 solar thermal field enables the replacement of 2410 MWh of former gas-heated heating with renewable heat in Narbonne’s city network, managed by a subsidiary of Dalkia.

On behalf of newHeat, Meriaura Energy was responsible for constructing the majority of the solar plant, including the solar collector field, the heat exchanger outlet, and the thermal storage tank. With over 200 collectors in operation, the system ensures high energy efficiency, reducing co2 emissions by 510 tons annually from the city’s district heating network.

Comprising nearly 900 solar collectors and spanning an area of 13,000 m2, the solar thermal system in Issoudun, France, is the second-largest in France and the second largest dedicated to industrial process heating in Europe.

The heat generated by the system is sold to a malt drying factory operated by Malteries Franco-Suisses by Kyotherm Solar specializing in the third-party financing of renewable heat and energy efficiency projects.

Meriaura Energy was responsible for delivering the majority of the solar thermal plant, including the solar collector field, civil work, piping and design. The plant was installed in 2021.
